New Annual Registration/Renewal Process and Fees Coming This Fall

Posted on Jun 7 2020 - 1:32am

Hello, Pack 260 families. You should have recently received an email from Northern Star Council regarding the change in annual registration/renewals. Northern Star is working to support its families and its units in having a single point in time for new and returning youth and adults to register and/or renew their membership and have the process in sync with the Scouting year. Volunteers and parents, for years, have been asking that the annual program registration/renewal process should follow the school year and program year. No longer will units need to recharter their youth and adults at the end of the calendar year. Starting August 1, 2020, families will complete their registration and renewal online at www.adventureiscalling.org.

We Still Need Your Help to Reach our Friends of Scouting Goal!

Posted on Mar 7 2020 - 10:05pm

This year, Pack 260’s Friends of Scouting goal is $3,100. Families are asked to consider an annual gift of $252, the cost of the council to support one boy in Scouting for one year. That said, contributions of any amount are greatly appreciated and help make Scouting possible in the Northern Star Council. When we make our goal, our Pack will receive its Pinewood Derby cars for next year free.

Scout Sunday

February 2, 9 a.m. mass

The Boy Scouts of America annually celebrates its founding on February 8, 1910, based on the program started by Lord Baden Powell in England on August 1, 1907. Scout Sunday was added to the Scout celebration in the middle 1940s. Scout Sunday is always the Sunday preceding February 8th, unless the 8th is a Sunday, in which case the 8th would be Scout Sunday. The Saturday following February 8th is Scout Sabbath.
